Testing Services

Our state of the art testing facility is fully equipped to carry out specimen preparation on samples cut from manufactured products and testing to recognised BS/EN/ASTM standards as well as our own Laboratory Developed Methods.

We are also able to carry out minor intrusive site testing on installed projects to determine compliance with rectification work carried out by our sister company Viscrete

EN 1170:2024

This is the testing standard for GRC in the UK and European Union along with many other economies.

Testing methods incorporated are flexural bending, density, dimensional movement and ageing through cyclic weathering.

EN 1170:2024 is being adopted by the GRCA during 2026 as it’s primary testing method for manufacturing members

EN 1015-12

The adhesion bond test originally developed for applied renders is the most suitable to validate the bond between facing coats and the structural GRC as referenced in the GRCA Practical Guide for Facing Coats

ASTM C1583/C1538M - 20

Test to confirm correct adhesion of repairs to GRC products. Essential to validate repair durability as detailed in BS 8297

ASTM C1230 (2023)

Standard Test Method for performing tests on GFRC bonding pads. Can be used for both stud frame attachment points and embedded anchors embedded in formed pads

LABORATORY DEVELOPED METHOD (LDM) 1210

In-house method for preparation of specimens removed from GRC products including measurement of facing coat and structural GRC – essential for compliant performance
